Richmond Attends 2019 Greater NY Dental Meeting

Each year, the team at Richmond Dental and Medical travels to leading dental industry meetings worldwide, to stay up-to-date on the latest trends and technologies changing dentistry and to stay in touch with the dental care providers who use our products in clinics around the world.

A couple of weeks ago, Richmond joined more than 600 exhibitors at one of our favorite events of the holiday season, the 2019 Greater New York Dental Meeting. Richmond has been a proud supporter since the beginnings of this event, produced jointly by the New York County and Second District Dental Societies.

Held annually at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City, the Greater New York Dental Meeting is one of the largest industry events in the country, attracting more than 52,000 attendees from across the dental industry spectrum around the world. Over 13,000 international attendees hailing from represented 156 countries . Nearly 20,000 dentists and over 8,000 dental assistants, hygienists, and technicians headed to the city for educational sessions and demonstrations of new technologies.

Specialty meetings held in conjunction with the Greater NY Dental Meeting included the World Implant Expo, the Pediatric Dentistry Summit, the Sleep Apnea Symposium, the 3D Printing and Digital Dentistry Conference, the Public Health Conference, and the Oral Cancer Symposium.

This year’s event took place December 1-4. Attendees enjoyed a wide variety of educational opportunities, including all-day and half-day seminars, as well as technology workshops and live patient demonstrations. The Greater NY Dental Meeting featured more than 1,600 technical exhibits showcasing the technology that’s shaping dental care for the next generation.

Founded in 1860, the New York County Dental Society represents one of the largest local groups of dentists in the United States. With more than 2,000 members practicing in Manhattan, New York County Dental Society members have made a special commitment to uphold its ethical code and practice standards, as well as those of New York State and the American Dental Association. It is an invaluable advocacy and education resource that protects its members and the public.

The Second District Dental Society is a local affiliate of the New York State Dental Association and the American Dental Association. It is one of the largest and most influential dental associations in the country, counting more than 140,000 dentists as members. This number represents 70 percent of all dentists nationwide.
